AREA FORUM/WARD GRANTS
Matter for Consideration:
To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes.
Information:
The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

Revoe Area Forum has requested:
(i) £700 as a donation to The Cube Waterloo Family Centre to purchase age appropriate toys for the Toasty Toddlers group.
(ii) £1,500 as a contribution to St John Vianney Parish Centre to purchase new chairs and a storage trolley.

Revoe Area Forum and Cherry Tree Area Forum have each requested £2,500 as a contribution towards the Blackpool Music Academy CIC to part fund disabled access to its building. Further investigations made following receipt of the application showed that although the Academy was available to all Blackpool residents, the attendees were predominantly from the wards within the Revoe and Cherry Tree Area Forum areas.

Sandhurst Area Forum has requested £5,000 as a contribution to the 1st Norbreck Scout and Guide Group to fund repairs to the Scout and Guide building roof, repairs to the hot water/boiler system and improvements to the grounds surrounding the building.

South Shore Area Forum has requested:
(i) £154.98 as a donation to the Friends of Louie Horrocks Park to purchase a Bosch electric hedge trimmer to improve the appearance of the shrubbery in the park.
(ii) £2,250 as a donation to Lancashire Association of Boys and Girls Clubs to fund activities for young people to be delivered from the “Club2go” mobile youth club.
(iii)£900 as a donation to Highfield Kidz Club as a contribution towards delivery of diverse activities within an existing Youth Club to include specific projects to develop and improve lifestyles choices, health and fitness.
(iv)£4,000 as a donation to Acregate Allotment Association as a contribution towards the replacement of the drainage system and the cost of materials to improve accessibility.

The Gateway Area Forum has requested £1,620 as a donation to North Shore Methodist Church to purchase and replace 60 chairs which are in disrepair and as part of the on-going work with the disadvantaged and vulnerable clients who use the facilities.

Councillors Cain and Jones of Bloomfield Ward have requested £508 as a contribution towards the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Department with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features together with Victoria Ward and Tyldesley Ward.

Councillors Taylor and Mrs Taylor of Claremont Ward have requested £268 to purchase 400 willow whips and 50 Pyracantha shrubs to plant around Claremont Community Centre to deter camping.

Councillors Mrs Greenhalgh and Hutton of Clifton Ward have requested £1,524 for the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Department with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features.

Councillors Ryan and Wright of Greenlands Ward have requested £2,934 as a contribution together with Ingthorpe Ward for the reconstruction of a footway near redundant bowling greens at Moor Park Leisure Centre.

Councillors Hardy and Mrs Haynes of Hawes Side Ward have requested £2,800 for the purchase and installation of an alley gate at Branston Road, to include £275 estimated advertising costs.

Councillors Mrs Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Wards have requested:
(i) £2,500 to Acregate Allotment Association as a contribution towards upgrading works, materials and hire of equipment to resurface the path at Acregate Allotments.
(ii) £500 to Acregate Allotment Association as a contribution towards a Dry Composting Toilet for Acregate Allotments.
(iii)£4,045 for the purchase and installation of alley gates at Endsleigh Gardens, to include £275 estimated advertising costs.
(iv)£1,524 for the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Department with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features.

Councillors D Coleman and Elmes of Marton Ward have requested £2,900 as a contribution to Stanley Primary School to fund the development of a trim trail around the school grounds.

Councillors Cox and Green of Squires Gate Ward have requested:
(i) £1,085.09 for the purchase and installation of 3 benches on Highfield Road as part of the Highfield Road improvements.
(ii) £630 for the purchase and installation of 2 litter bins on Lytham Road.

Councillors Riding and Smith of Talbot Ward have requested:
(i) £1,000 as a contribution towards the urban art that was recently done in Caunce Street Playground.
(ii) £3,150 for the re-siting of an existing alley gate on Reads Avenue Extension 2.
(iii)£1,300 for the re-siting of an existing alley gate on Church Street to the rear of No 1 Whitegate Drive.

Councillors Brown and Delves of Warbreck Ward have requested:
(i) £1,230.96 as a contribution towards road markings outside Langdale School and school signage for Langdale School.
(ii)£248.84 for the purchase and installation of a replacement litter bin on Devonshire Road.
